A letter from Shane

Meet Shane Scott

My name is Shane Scott, and I am proud to call Augusta home.

I grew up here, attending Lincoln and Garfield Elementary Schools and Augusta Junior High School. I went on to Wichita Baptist Tabernacle Schools and then to Baptist Bible College (now Mission University) in Springfield, Missouri.

My career in business ownership, banking, and finance has taught me the value of financial responsibility, sound decision-making, and strong relationships. My time in church ministry deepened my commitment to caring for people and serving others. Together with years of community involvement, these experiences have shaped how I lead: listen carefully, act with integrity, and serve with purpose.

My greatest blessings are my faith and my family. I am a devoted husband to my extraordinary wife, Tonya; a proud dad to six amazing children; and “Papa Scott” to thirteen very energetic grandchildren.

I am grateful to live, work, and raise my family in the community I love, and to have the chance to serve it. Augusta’s future is full of promise, and I am committed to working with the city council and city staff to build an even stronger community for generations to come.

Sincerely,Shane Scott
